Special Events at Settlers Village
"Happy Holidays"
We here at Vancura Gallery of Fine Art and Settlers' Village want to extend a warm and
heart felt wish of "Good Cheer" to you and yours for this upcoming 2009 Holiday season.
We would like to invite you to
"The 4th Annual "Christmas in the Country Holiday Open House" celebration this
year as well, on Friday and Saturday December 4&5 and 11&12, from 9to 6pm.
Enjoy Amish, Southwest and Fine Art shopping all within a 2 miles
radius of each other. Beautiful countryside and friendly, hassle- free
shopping awaits as you shop the twelve participating businesses.
Each will host their annual holiday fun,activities, refreshments and exciting raffles
and auctions.All proceeds from the raffles and auctions are collected by
Middlefield C.A.R.E.S.( Children Are Remembered Every Year)! and proceedes are given in
their entirety to the "Shop with a Cop" is a Middlefield Police Department program that builds
lasting memories for a deserving child who gets to shop for his or her entire family with the
guidance of a local police officer; and to the United Methodist "Food Cupboard" for those in need
in Middlefield and the surrounding area. Last year the members of Middlefield "CARES" collected
approximately 1,000 pounds of food and about 75 new toys that were distributed throught the area.
Distribution is non-denominational.
The in-store raffles include a locally-made quilt; a bountiful basket
of Middlefield Cheese pluss a signed and numbered,conservation framed
Greenwich Workshop Dean Morrissey print, titled "One Christmas Eve".
The winner will be drawn on December 14th.
As an added attraction Country Arts and Jewelry Southwestern Shoppe will
host a silent auction and a Chinese auction featuring tickets to the Geauga Theatre Guild,
an obsidian wind chime, framed artwork, southwest
apparel and more.
Winners announced on Monday December 14 at 4:00.
The ticket price for in-store raffles is $1.
The grand prize features an overnight stay at The Red Maple Inn, dinner for two
at Mary Yoder’s Amish Kitchen, and a holiday sleigh ride provided
by Ma and Pa’s Gift Shack. The grand prize tickets can be purchased
from Middlefield Cheese, Country Arts and Jewelry Southwestern Shop
and Vancura Gallery of Fine Art and Custom Framing.
The ticket price for the grand prize is $5.

You can also choose to paint a horse or cow on wood or on slate. Plus we have a variety of designs to choose from
to create a very special Sun Catcher. All materials and instructions included.
